In Between Ending Credits
Motion Works
2026
A 3D ending credits sequence for In Between, exploring animated transitions, symbolic objects, texture, rendering, and compositing.

Created for In Between, a thesis film directed by Alice Yeh, this ending credits sequence explores memory, identity, and the feeling of existing between cultures. The film follows May, an Asian American girl navigating her sense of belonging as she enters a surreal world shaped by Chinese zodiac figures, symbolic objects, and fragments of memory.
The sequence combines 2D and 3D motion design to extend the film’s emotional world beyond the ending. Familiar cultural objects such as jade, porcelain, oranges, and abstract shapes transform throughout the piece, shifting between solid and fluid forms. Through these transitions, the sequence reflects the idea that home is not tied to one fixed place, but something shaped by memory, culture, and personal experience.
I was responsible for the full ending credits process, including concept development, storyboarding, visual direction, 3D animation, rendering, compositing, and color grading. Working across both 2D and 3D, I shaped the transitions, materials, textures, and symbolic objects into a cohesive final sequence.
Tools : ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS, CINEMA 4D, REDSHIFT
FILM: IN BETWEEN, DIRECTED BY ALICE YEH
GUIDANCE: PROFESSOR MINHO SHIN
